Hiwassee Scenic River Park

Hiwassee Scenic River Park is on a 23-mile section of the Hiwassee River. The river includes some Class II and Class III rapids for canoeing, rafting, and fishing.

Directions:
These directions are to Gee Creek Campground, which is where we camp when we canoe or kayak on the Hiwassee River. Take I-75 south to Exit 52 (Mt. Verd Road). At the end of the off ramp, turn left to Athens on Highway 305. In Athens, turn right and take Highway 30 to Etowah. At U.S. Highway 411, turn right and go south. Look for a sign to the campground (at Spring Creek Rd.) on the right about 7 miles from Etowah. Turn left on Spring Creek Rd. and continue for one mile to the campground.
